meet the founders.

  • dotwise was founded by an industry veteran, Daniel Shum, with over two decades of consumer research expertise. He was the former Regional Vice President of Consumer Insights and Strategic Foresights for The Walt Disney Company in Asia for 13 years. Prior to that, he was the Managing Director for the Hong Kong and Taiwan offices of Research International (part of Kantar/WPP) for almost a decade.

    As an experienced focus group moderator, Daniel prides himself in his consumer knowledge and cultural insights from living in various cities across Asia, including Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, and Taipei.

  • A seasoned market researcher and strategic planner with over 15 years of hands-on experience, Rachel Tse is the Insight Director of dotwise. Her wealth of market research experience from working on the client side (South China Morning Post) as well as in research, advertising and design agencies (e.g. Wirthlin Worldwide / Harris Interactive, Bates Advertising, DDB) spans a wide range of industries, from FMCG to banking and finance to media and publishing.

    Rachel is conversant in a variety of research methodologies. With good interpersonal skills and ability to relate to all walks of life, Rachel enjoys moderating focus groups and ethnographic interviews. Her research skills are greatly complimented by her brand planning and advertising experience.
